preeety crafty

what the f&&**@%$!!!

first, watch this.

now, for the ranting session.

  • the amazon does  produce a lot of oxygen, which it consumes right away.
  • the territory where amazon is located houses a lot of people. these people are for the greater part brazilian.
  • the people who are pulling it down are corporate america. yes. that’s right. huge “american” multinationals are taking it  over, with the “purpose” of using the land for grazing. cow grazing. know what they do? they pull down all the vegetation. then they put one cow there. leave it for a while, and go on to the next piece of land. taking that same cow, by helicopter, while the ground burns to get rid of the cleanup job. and this is a very poor soil, especially after the burning, so the only thing that grows there is forest, cause they are self sufficient, and the fallen leaves and dead animals make up for the lack of nutritients in the soil. these are the same companies that gave the military money for the coupe d’estate in the 60’s, which led to our state as a military dictatorship from 1964 to 1984, a time when many, many hundreds “mysteriously dissapeared” after being taken by the military. these people were mostly tortured to death and disposed of in unmarked shallow graves. most of them are still missing. the military then went on to start hundreds of projects meant to “bring progress to the country”, but which ended up bankrupting us. and that is still a problem 20 years later. i could go on, but all this information is available, so…
  • there are minerals and gems and gold and silver and all that more around there. all of it protected. but, if you happen to own the land… need i say more? there is a huge speculation of diamond mines there as well.
  • not to mention all of the flora and fauna, many of which have tremendous medicinal importance, hence the potential to make pharmaceutical companies even more rich then they are already.

i’m gonna stop for now, but you catch my drift, right? the people who get their hands on that land is gonna such it dry, and make gazillions in the process. and all in the guise of “saving the green”. yeah right!

Come, take a look at our sweets table!

I am trying to be a good hostess, so I placed some pies and cakes you all might like, some cheesecake, some candy, things you are all familiar with.

And also some brazilian sweets. We are here in my area of portuguese descent, so our sweets are as well. We use lots of sugar, eggs, and condensed milk in our treats. Fattening? Yes. Heaven? You bet!

We have negrinhos and branquinhos, blackie and whitey, on a rough translation. And don’t look at me sideways. We never had segregation amongst us. Just some fun teasing. The only racial problems arise in media (which is being taken care of) and high society (but they should all die anyway).

The star of our table is the Nega Maluca, or Crazy Black Woman (fyi, a black woman invented it), which is the all time favourite for parties and chocolate and cake consumption around here. It is absolute heaven. Two slices of chocolate cake filled with negrinho (condensed milk, butter and chocolate cooked together until stucky point) and covered in it, with some chipped chocolate on top, and some preserved cherries to make it preeety! You have not lived until you tried it!

Maybe I’ll post a recipe later on. Anyone interested?

Well, that’s our sweets table, enjoy!!!

Btw, feeling all better, all bitterness and dickeanism gone! ;-)

It is interesting, but i don’t live by them

Your Personality type is INTP

INTPs lack follow-through and this can isolate their ideas from practical
examination. Their notions become over-intellectualized and too
abstract to be of practical benefit. With their sharp critical thinking
and analytical abilities, INTPs tend to nit-pick, hair-split, and
generally overdo simple issues. Their desire for accuracy and precision
exacerbates any error they may perceive in themselves or in others —
they are, in other words, highly self-critical. Wanting to be competent
and know everything, their standards grow increasingly higher. When
fear of failing becomes overly pronounced, INTPs are quick to feel
unintelligent, slow, and powerless. If stress continues, the INTP’s mind seems to freeze and block out thevital information it has worked so hard to accumulate. Their creative
juices stop flowing and they suffer from stage fright, writers block,
and a general inhibition of their ingenious thinking and fluent
language skills. Preoccupied with performance failure, INTPs become
self-consciously distracted in anticipation of their failure. If the
stress becomes too overwhelming, the fear of blanking out prevents them
from taking risks in areas they desire to succeed in. Attempting to
avoid incompetence, they fail to gain the expertise and mastery they so
desperately need.

Careers
This lists represent careers and jobs people of your type tend to enjoy
doing. The job requirements are similar to the personality tendencies
of your personality type. It is important to remember that this is not
a list of all the jobs possible. And it is very important to remember
that people can, and frequently do, fill jobs that are dissimilar to
their personality… this happens all the time…and sometimes works
out quite well.

Your Temperament is Rational (NT)

Rationals are the problem solving temperament, particularly if the problem has to do with the many complex systems that make up the world around us. Rationals might tackle problems in organic systems such as plants and animals, or in mechanical systems such as railroads and computers, or in social systems such as families and companies and governments. But whatever systems fire their curiosity, Rationals will analyze them to understand how they work, so they can figure out how to make them work better.

In working with problems, Rationals try to find solutions that have application in the real world, but they are even more interested in the abstract concepts involved, the fundamental principles or natural laws that underlie the particular case. And they are completely pragmatic about their ways and means of achieving their ends. Rationals don’t care about being politically correct. They are interested in the most efficient solutions possible, and will listen to anyone who has something useful to teach them, while disregarding any authority or customary procedure that wastes time and resources.
Rationals have an insatiable hunger to accomplish their goals and will work tirelessly on any project they have set their mind to. They are rigorously logical and fiercely independent in their thinking–are indeed skeptical of all ideas, even their own–and they believe they can overcome any obstacle with their will power. Often they are seen as cold and distant, but this is really the absorbed concentration they give to whatever problem they’re working on. Whether designing a skyscraper or an experiment, developing a theory or a prototype technology, building an aircraft, a corporation, or a strategic alliance, Rationals value intelligence, in themselves and others, and they pride themselves on the ingenuity they bring to their problem solving.

Rationals are very scarce, comprising as little as 5 to 10 percent of the population. But because of their drive to unlock the secrets of nature, and to develop new technologies, they have done much to shape our world.

so, me and fashion
we don’t talk.
not that I don’t like looking good, because i am a girl after all.
I just don’t see the point in spending all one’s money on one peace of clothing, when you could have so much more.
i don’t really like to dress up, seeing as how i prefer to stay in the background…
i do like accessories though. i don’t wear jewellery, as I’m allergic to most anything, but i like scarves, hats, hair pins, purses…
i don’t like shoes either, mainly because i only wear flats, and they aren’t very marketable around here. and i don’t buy many clothes cause they just don’t fit right. I’m not obese, but i have breasts, and thighs, and all those other womanly parts. I am vertically challenged as well, so clothes shopping in a place where you have to be skinny to be dressed well (and the skinny are a rare breed around here) actually having a figure means no shopping, as all the larger sizes are snatched as soon as they hit the racks. and i don’t have the funds…
I usually go for jeans, tshirts, one of the rare shoes i do find, or converses, a nice bag, nice scarf, and a hair pin… and that’s that!
so, now you know a bit more about me.
and my headache is gone!;-)

Hello there!

First off, let me start by apologizing for being such a poor host, but I had a total of three hours sleep last night, so today I’m a little slow.
I’ll then start with this, which I got from Race Mom:

  • YOUR REAL NAME: Bibiana
  • YOUR GANGSTA NAME (1st 4 letters plus izzle): Bibiizzle. Yuck!
  • YOUR DETECTIVE NAME (fave color + fave animal): Undefined Cat. That’s depressing.
  • YOUR SOAP OPERA NAME (middle name + childhood street): Silveira Tupy. Interesting: my middle name is Silveira, which is my mother’s maiden name (here we use name+mother’s family name+father’s family name). And my childhood street is Tupy Silveira. Tupy is a Guarani Indian, the tribe to whom the land where the city was built belonged to. Go figure!
  • YOUR STAR WARS NAME (last 3 letters of your last name + first 2 letters of your first name + first 3 letters of Mom’s maiden name): NesBiSil. I don’t wanna play no more!!
  • YOUR SUPER HERO NAME (2nd fave color + fave drink): Undefined Guarana. I really need to decide on some colours and their ranks!
  • YOUR IRAQI NAME (2nd letter of your first name + 3rd letter of your last name + any letter of your middle name + 2nd letter of your Mom’s maiden name + 3rd letter of your Dad’s middle name + 1st letter of a sibling’s first name + last letter of your Mom’s middle name): Inairba. Not that bad…
  • YOUR WITNESS PROTECTION PROGRAM NAME (Grandma/Grandpa’s first name + Jones): Maria Jones. Lame.
  • YOUR GOTH NAME (Black + name of one of your pets): Black Animal. Yes, my cat’s name was Animal. So what? He is!!!
  • YOUR AMERICAN IDOL NAME (fav car and sea food) Beetle Shrimp. Breathe…
  • NAME OF YOUR DREAM BAND (name of computer + printer): Custom Cannon. Well, I did assemble my own computer, and it remains top of the line 2 years later. Ha!
  • MOVIE STAR NAME (sibling’s middle name + mother-in-law’s maiden name): Silveira I-have-no-idea
  • YOUR ALTER EGO NAME (name of one your childhood pets + popular brand of clothes when you were young): Snif Colcci. Buauaaaaaaa….
  • YOUR LAWYER NAME (fav actor’s last name + fav hard liquor): Thornton Tequila. But I’m a girl…
  • Your HIP HOP NAME (favorite candy+ fruit) Jujubees Apple. Interesting…

Well.

So now to tell you all a bit about me.
Today, let me tell you about my family.

I am today a working mother and wife. My little boy G is 2 and half, and my husband is 30. I’m 24. I followed the family tradition in which the first generation is born from the first born of the previous generation, in her early 20s. That is a long standing tradition in our family. Okay, not sure I should be writing this, but…
Well, my biological father is 11 yrs older than my mom. They met when she was 18, and she fell hard. She went away to school, and he followed, and months before graduation she turns up pregnant. They got married, which lasted about 3 months before he split. Him, I will not mention again.
My mom was then a recently graduated single mother in the early 80s, which was no easy feat. I spent a lot of time with my grandmother and her husband, until I finally moved in with them, who proceeded to raise me.
My mom moved away, got her masters, met someone, and they got together. My mom, having already married, and my stepfather, being the atheist philosopher he is, decided not to get married, seen as how it doesn’t mean much in our society. My grandma didn’t marry her “husband” either. Neither did I. We all live happily in sin. We’re not a religious lot, especially me and my stepfather, who share some ideas on the subject. My hubby is still questioning.
Getting back, my mom and stepdad had two kids, went to Europe to get their doctorates, and I went there for 6 months. We all came back, I moved in with them, as the university I got into is the same one they work in.
Turns out you can’t have me and my mom in the same space for very long. A year and a half later, I’m moving out, going to live on my own. Long story, huh? And this is the abridged version.
Anyway, about six months later hubby and i got together. We had met before, through friends. We hooked up, and are still at it, four years later. In the meantime, we got pregnant, officialy moved in together, and started our family. We have our fights, and they are frequent and heated, but we get along, in our own way. As for school, maybe some other time I’ll tell you about that…

Now, I’ll go on to mingle.

But first, an update on my Finished Projects.

This is my Russet Chenille Scarf, as mentioned here. It’s actually preeetier in person…

That’s all folks!

Update!

This sounds really bleak, kind of Dickean… well, all I have to say for myself is that I had a major drenching today, seen as how no umbrella would uphold to the storm that hit us today, and so I have a cold, a headache, my arm is giving me grief, my sinus as well, and I’m alone with G, who either a) is hungry, b) wants to go potty, or c) wants to be annoying. So I’m going to leave the party early today, and not bother you with my black mood. See you tomorrow, enjoy the party!!!

Come to the party!!!!
